THE SHUNAMITE WOMAN
2 kings 4:8-37
She made an observation.... she perceived that Elisha was a man of God.
Her perception led her to action that attracted the blessing of the Man of God by involving her in hosting Elisha in their homestead.

The man of God was connected to people and God.
So, when her time came to be rewarded came, Elisha had an answer coz the king could listen

to him

The woman chooses wisely ...

Her statements were.

1. I LIVE AMONG MY PEOPLE

- I live among my people - it was a statement of confidence.
She was already past embarrassment
- The statement means her people knew her condition. She had overcome the shame
She was not tied by her problems.

She was not living in pity parties.

She overlooked what she lacked.
- The prophet of God knew that what she needed was not from men but from God.
- That caused him to speak a word from God that she would get a child.

2. SHE SAID "DO NOT DECEIVE ME MAN OF GOD"

- The promise was beyond her expectation
- what she was promised was

beyond the control of men
- it was not a sign of doubt, it was a sign of a long-time desire
- she believed it, so she was ready to wait for the miracle. She wanted to be assured of the manifestation time.

3. IT SHALL BE WELL

she says this to her husband as she went to meet the man of God

- She knew the source of her blessing; she confessed those words because she was not ready

to part with the blessing

- The woman refused to declare the child dead. So, Elisha could not perceive it in the spirit because the woman never confessed the baby dead. So, it was hidden in his heart and he said the Lord did not reveal it to him

4. SHE HELD THE FEET OF ELISHA AND ASKED, DID I ASK THE LORD FOR A SON??? Did I not say do not Deceive me??

How many can go to God and challenge him when things are not working...e.g. ministry, family, etc.
- did I tell you not to deceive me?
She meant she took all her roles in keeping and looking after the baby only for him to die.

- Can we confidently say that what you have was God’s and so it needs to live. The child was God's and so he had to resurrect.
5. As the Lord lived and as thy soul lived, I will not leave thee,
And he arose and followed her.

-
Even when things seem tough can we say "IT IS WELL" knowing that what we have, and we feel like we losing originated from God?
May God help us
